Head of Studies
Dr. Peter Zeller graduated from the Technical University of Vienna in the field of electrical engineering, with a specialization in energy technology. Thereafter he moved to the Institute for High Voltage Engineering and Switching Technology (TU Vienna) and received his PhD on the subject of „Experimental Investigation of the Interaction of Arc Chute Gas with Magnet Blast Switching arcs". During this time, he lectured in the field of high voltage engineering and supervised numerous diploma theses.
After completing his PhD, he joined ABB High Voltage Technology, department for Surge Arresters in Wettingen (CH), where he became head of the globally operating R&D department for surge arresters and overvoltage protection technology.
In 2002 he joined the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, were he developed numerous international degree programs.
Most recently, he initiated degree programs offering international Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering.
Dr. Peter Zeller is a member of the IEEE as well as several scientific and standardization committees, and is therefore well connected internationally, which proves to be of great benefit to the students as well as his team.
