New Guest Lecturer of Electrical Engineering at Wels Campus

We are delighted to welcome Univ.-Prof. DI Dr. Bernd Deutschmann from the Technical University of Graz to our faculty. Professor Deutschmann, a distinguished expert in the field of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), will be leading the course "EMC and EMI Aspects" in the Master's program in Electrical Engineering.

The course will cover essential foundations of EMC for electronic devices and systems, drawing on practical examples. Topics include printed circuit board and IC design, EMC measurement techniques and standards, as well as filters and DC/DC converters.

A particular highlight of the course includes two planned laboratory sessions conducted in collaboration with Fronius International GmbH and the Seibersdorf Laboratories. During these sessions, students will have the opportunity to gain insights into the comprehensive EMC characterization of electronic devices and work in state-of-the-art absorber chambers equipped with devices such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, and pulse generators.

This hands-on collaboration provides our students with direct access to leading knowledge in the field of electromagnetic compatibility, offering a unique opportunity to enhance their skills in cutting-edge laboratories.

"I am very pleased to have Professor Bernd Deutschmann as a guest lecturer. This allows us to reconnect with past experiences and collaborate professionally," adds FH-Prof. Dr. Mario Jungwirth.
