Nowadays both multinational companies and small local enterprises are competing on a worldwide basis. In order to be successful it is important to anticipate the needs of customers fast, innovatively and in a convincing quality. Adequate business processes are essential prerequisites to meet these requirements on a long term basis. For this purpose, data and information have to be rethought in strategic and operational management. This means that data based decision-making take the place of intuition and “gut feeling” leading to measurably greater productivity and profits following the adaptation of business processes.
