The 1st edition of the International Days in Social Work took place from 6 - 11 June 2016. 41 students and lecturers from 9 countries participated in the programme, including groups from Armenia, Russia, Germany, Switzerland and Lithuania plus the students from the master programme in social work at the campus in Linz.
Initially, these International Days started in 2009 as a summer school for American students from our partner university "University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare". After several successful summer schools it was decided not only to invite our partners from the US, but open the summer school also to all our partner universities and their students - the International Days in Social Work were initiated and took place for the first time in 2016.
A week full of lecturers, workshops and site visits gave our guests the possibility to have a look at institutions in Upper Austria active in the field of social work and to learn, what social work includes in other countries.
