The School of Medical Engineering and Applied Social Sciences is the venue for international events that involve both, students and staff. The annual events provide an opportunity to chat with international guests and to learn more about your colleague's experiences abroad.
This event is designed for our master's degree students in social work and students and lecturers from our international partner universities and lasts for one week. It has been offered since 2016 and was developed from a Summer School which originally started in 2009 as a course for students/lecturers from one US partner university.
The International Days in Social Work take place each year and are organised by the Department of Social Work and International Office and has been very successful with up to 100 participants per year.
The programme covers lectures/workshops which are given by international guest lecturers as well as site visits to social work organisations and cultural activities.

We invited lecturers and students from our partner universities to take part in this event. Professors were invited to give a lecture/workshop during this week. Students who completed this programme received up to 2 ECTS. The programme consisted not only of lectures and workshops but offered also site visits and social activities.
It is planned to organize this Winter School annually.
The International University Week (IUW) is organised by members of SocNet98 which is an association of 18 European partner universities offering the study programme social work. Each year we meet during a certain week at 3 - 4 different locations for lectures, workshops and site visits learning with and from each other about different areas of International Social Work.
In 2017, the IUW took place in Linz.
