Humboldt forums in three cities in China

The Beijing Humboldt Forum co-founded by FH Upper Austria met for the seventh time in September, this time not only in the capital Beijing, but also in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province and Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province. The approximately 1,000 participants of the conference with the participation of business, science and government organizations discussed the topics "Green Economy" and "Cultural Heritage" from different perspectives. This year, the additional focal topic "artificial intelligence" was added. The aim of the forum is mutual learning, understanding and the exchange of views on socially relevant topics.

Andreas Zehetner, Vice President for Internationalisation of the FH Upper Austria and founding member of the Beijing Humboldt Forum: "This forum offers us in a friendly atmosphere the opportunity to learn, to network and to better understand the huge and interesting market 'China' - and vice versa same for our Chinese friends. "

Particularly interesting: Both the province of Shandong as a partner province of the state of Upper Austria, and the city of Chengdu, as the sister city of Linz have a particularly intense relationship with our state. This offers good points of contact for science and industry.

For the first time, FH Upper Austria has also invited representatives of Upper Austrian companies that are active in China or are seeking business opportunities there. Among other things, the fire-fighters Rosenbauer, the rail sensor specialist Frauscher, the energy AG and the IT hardware manufacturer Weigl Electronics discussed possibilities, but also challenges of the China business with local experts.

On board were also the tourism experts of the state of Upper Austria and the city of Linz, who promoted culture and knowledge tourism to Upper Austria. A piece of "Linzer Torte" for all delegates could not be missing.
