How to reduce aggressive behaviour at schools

For three days, Linz was the hotspot of the international aggression research community. By signing the children´s rights convention, Austria placed itself under an obligation to protect children and teenagers from any type of violence, be it of a physical or mental nature. Still, the facts speak a different language: studies conducted in Austria document that a high number of pupils, app. 10 %, suffer physical attacks by other pupils on a regular basis.  Verbal attacks occur even more often. Already in 2012, a WHO-study called the situation in Austria dramatic in comparison to other nations. For this reason, 105 experts from 21 different nations gathered at the FH Upper Austria Campus Linz from 19 – 21 November to discuss the most recent strategies in bullying prevention.
