From Hagenberg to New Zealand

International prize-winners, world-renowned creatives and renowned studios will be on hand when Hagenberg's University of Applied Sciences once again brings computer animation before the curtain at the Ars Electronica Media Festival from 10 to 12 September.

One of the many highlights in the programme is the lecture by FH Upper Austria graduate Sabine Baier. The Upper Austrian studied media technology and design in Hagenberg and has been working as a compositing supervisor at Weta Digital in Wellington, New Zealand, since 2012, where she created digital effects for the Harry Potter, Hobbit and Planet of the Apes series and the new Marvel film Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, among others. In her talk, Baier will talk about her career and her work for Weta, especially during the pandemic and as a mother.
