DALIA – domestic help of the future for older people

School of Applied Health and Social Sciences Linz is part of international research project

Partners from 5 countries are collaborating in a project called DALIA (Assistant for Daily Life Activities at Home) to help older people with their household issues. The aim of the research is to create a virtual assistant, called Avatar, which is a multifunctional interface between older people and their external helpers. Avatar will be designed to help clients to use the telephone, to look for their keys or to remind them to take their pills. Besides technical design and service, the project participants are also developing a business model to help Avatar succeed in the market.
