Clear the Stage for International Students

1,318 international students are currently studying at the four schools in Hagenberg, Linz, Steyr or Wels. Some only for an exchange semester, but some complete their entire studies in Upper Austria. These young people should also be closely tied to the land above the Enns. "By attending a performance at the Landestheater Linz, we convey a sense of life to our international students. But we also present Upper Austria as a region of excellence, for which the high quality of the Landestheater is ideally suited, "explains FH-Prof. Dr. Andreas Zehetner, FH Upper Austria’s Vice President for Internationalisation.

Already in the last year, around 70 students from all continents enjoyed joint theater visits. Due to the often existing language barriers, especially opera performances are highly appreciated. The Landestheater Linz supports these gatherings with specially tailored English-language introductions.

Mozart = Austria?

In the current season, most of the tickets for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera "La Clemenza the Tito" were launched. "It does not matter if the students have already visited an opera before or not. Quite a lot of them are simply connecting Mozart with Austria and its culture, "said Zehetner with a smile. Positioning Upper Austria as an excellent cultural location with a high quality of life is also very important for the FH Upper Austria. "After graduating, our students should either remain as experts in Upper Austria or remain connected to the country in a different way," continues Andreas Zehetner, emphasizing that a commitment to a country is not only created in the lecture hall or laboratory, but also in the living environment. The Landestheater Linz sees Zehetner here as a "hotspot".
