2nd Winter School in Medical Engineering at Linz Campus

The topics "Prosthetics", "Materials" and "Medical Simulations" formed the focal points of the second international Winter School Medical Engineering of the FH Upper Austria. International students from seven countries were selected by the Department of Medical Engineering from numerous applications. The participants came from the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, Latvia, Poland, the USA and Germany.

"The feedback from the participants was very positive, and the communication within the group was extremely good. Overall the winter school was a complete success" reported FH-Prof. DI Dr. Robert Merwa, who was leading the winter school.

Part of this success was certainly due to the supporting and social programme including a visit to the state-of-the-art surgical infrastructure at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz as well as side events at the Ars Electronica Center Linz or the traditional Freistadt brewery in the charming Mühlviertel.

The participants of the Winter School experienced first-hand medical technology at the Kepler University Hospital (KUK)
