Linz is the capital of the state of Upper Austria, and approx. 120 km from Salzburg and 200 km from Vienna.

The closest airports are Salzburg, Vienna and Munich (Germany).

Linz has direct train connections with Vienna and Salzburg. The main train station "Linz Hauptbahnhof" is located in the centre of the city.
The train schedule is available at www.oebb.at.

From Linz airport:
Linz airport is situated between Wels and Linz. There is a free shuttle bus from the airport to the train station in Hörsching, where trains for Linz leave every hour. Tickets are currently € 3,80 and must be bought at the ticket vending machine before boarding the train.

From Salzburg airport:
Bus no. 2 departs from Salzburg airport every 15 minutes to the train station (see www.svv-info.at ). Tickets for the bus are available in the newspaper shop (Trafik) inside the airport or directly on the bus. From the train station, trains are going every twenty minutes to Linz, the estimated travel time is one hour and ten minutes. We highly recommend Westbahn, the quickest train with few stops. Tickets for Westbahn train are bought on the train.

Otherwise, if you choose OBB, tickets must be bought at a red ticket vending machine before boarding the train.

From Vienna Airport:
There is a direct bus connection between the airport and the “Westbahnhof” (train station west) where trains to Linz leave hourly. Tickets for the airport shuttle bus can be bought inside the bus and cost 6 €. The travel time from Vienna Westbahnhof to Linz is approximately 2 hours.

Take the urban train S1 or S8 to Munich East or Munich Central station, from there you can take express trains to Linz.

Accommodation

Accommodation for the Staff Training Week 2022 will be pre-booked by us centrally at a hotel in Linz. Participants will individually book their rooms using the allocated quota.

Hotel booking instructions will be sent out to the registered participants in time with all the additional information.

We would like to highlight that bus shuttles will be organized to all venues, according to the schedule of the programme. Thereby, the meeting point will be in front of the hotel we will collaborate with, we therefore strongly recommend not to book individidual hotels to avoid unnecessary complications.
