Seeds for the Future winners on a study trip to China

By participing in Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future” contest, two of our department’s students had the unique opportunity to visit and experience the culture and IT landscape of China.

Huawei's "Seeds for the future" programme is well-known for offering a one-of-a-kind international experience to young talents. Students were asked to write a paper on a current ICT issue.
Martin Schnegl (Mobile Computing) and Markus Hofmann (Energy Informatics) were two of many who handed in their essays and eventually were chosen to be two of the ten winners. The prize they received was worth writing an essay for sure: Martin and Markus were invited to a study trip to China where they gained first-hand insights into the work of a multinational ICT company, receiving cross-cultural work experience as well as language training.

Sightseeing in the famous cities of Shenzhen, Beijing and Hong Kong, a small introduction to the Chinese language and a calligraphy course helped the students experience the Chinese culture during their two-week stay. The program also included further training in leading ICT technologies as well as a visit to the Huawei headquarters.
