Robotic systems pervade more and more areas of our daily lives. It's no longer just the assembly lines with large fences between humans and robots. Nowadays, we are seeing solutions where human and robot collaborate hand in hand as partners. This requires an increased focus on the interaction design and not just the artificial intelligence of the robot. This workshop includes an introductory lecture which discusses different conceptual approaches to the design of the interaction between human and robot, ranging from monolithic human-like robots towards Multi-Robot swarm like approaches. As an area of application, it will focus on elderly care and discuss whether robots might be able to support here.
