Programme Outline
The 1st International Summer Workshop on IT Education & Research will take three days and is split in the following parts:
- Keynote and talks, dinner in the evening
- Half-day workshops, panel discussion in the afternoon
- Full-day social event
Day 1: The talks on day 1 will take place in a single track and in time slots of 30 minutes (presentation of best practice models of IT educators, "nuggets of my lecture").
Day 2: On day 2, there will be six workshops in three parallel tracks with a duration of 2 hours each, with the following topics:
- TRACK 1
- WORKSHOP A: How much programming is adequate in a modern IT curriculum?
- WORKSHOP B: How to make use of mobile devices and social media in IT education?
- TRACK 2
- WORKSHOP C: How to motivate students and teach formal techniques in a modern IT curriculum?
- WORKSHOP D: How to use the students' own laptops in in-class exams?
- TRACK 3
- WORKSHOP E: How important is internationalization in IT education?
- WORKSHOP F: How to join IT education and research?
The workshops will be followed by a panel discussion in the afternoon, where the workshop chairs will present the outcome of their workshops and discuss them with the audience.
