Happy International Women`s Day
Today`s international Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This day also marks a call for gender mainstreaming and the promotion of equality. For these purposes, it is not sufficient to be satisfied with what has been reached so far, but it requires all efforts to further continue equality improvements.
In this sense, UAS Upper Austria seeks to address your attention to some developments that point in the right direction:
The year 2016 is dedicated to family-friendly higher education policies which is why UAS Upper Austria is about to perform a higher education audit. The action being taken will allow us to be certified as a family-friendly university that seeks to incorporate elements of gender and diversity mainstreaming. In doing so, we take active steps to draw on diversity as a valuable resource and to continuously and sustainably integrate it in all our structures.
Hence, we invite you all to participate in the 2nd Diversity Day on 7 April at Hagenberg Campus – this day will be particularly devoted to women and pinpoint our endeavours to contribute to a society in which equity and family awareness take centre stage.
Thus, we consistently pursue our objectives anchored in the statutes of UAS Upper Austria and seek to make a contribution to a sustainable consolidation of equal rights for men and women. Moreover, we are constantly keen to establish and further develop networks for women and take action for awareness-raising campaigns for the benefit of gender and diversity mainstreaming.
Please find information on our activities to promote gender equality and diversity in the intranet or on our website.
We would also like to encourage you to send out an individual signal and download a pledge for parity selfie card for this special occasion http://www.internationalwomensday.com/Pledge-Cards
In this sense, we wish all students and staff of UAS Upper Austria a “happy international women`s day”.
