The TIG, owned by the state, is organised as a private enterprise society for promoting research and technology. The AWS was founded on the 1st of October 2002. FFG – Forschungsförderungsfonds für die gewerbliche Wirtschaft (Fund for Promoting Research for Industry)
The Fund for Promoting Research for Industry is the biggest financing institution for innovative projects in Austria. Companies are given the opportunity to present their projects to interested venture capitalists in the venture capital panels organised by the FFG, given that the company is supported by the FFG.
