AMM-team is nominated for the Audi Autonomous Driving Cup 2017

A highly motivated team from the young master's degree programme, Automotive Mechatronics and Management (AMM), has been nominated for the Audi Autonomous Driving Cup due to its innovative approach.

The aim of the Audi Autonomous Driving Cup is the development of fully automatic driving functions and the necessary software architectures. As part of this challenge, teams are developing systems with which they compete against each other on a course as well as in an "Open Challenge" ( www.audi-autonomous-driving-cup.com ). The highly-motivated A(MM)-team of the master's degree programme Automotive Mechatronics and Management (AMM) took up the challenge of this competition and presented a comprehensive description of the project for it. Based on that the A(MM)-team was able to maintain its position among the numerous submissions and was nominated for the competition with further nine teams, due to their first experience of artificial intelligence and the concrete concept expressed therein. In addition to the A(MM)-team, the teams of the following universities were selected for this cup:

•    University of Luxembourg
•    Ingolstadt Technical University
•    Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg and Hochschule Nürnberg
•    FZI Karlsruhe
•    HTWK Leipzig
•    Technical University of Ilmenau
•    University of Bremen
•    University of Augsburg
•    University of Freiburg

On May 31st  2017, the teams received their vehicles and the software framework as part of a kick-off at the Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt. From now on, the A(MM)-team has six months to develop intelligent, autonomous vehicles. "It will be a long and intense way to go towards the final of the competition for all the A(MM)-team members because additional to work on this project, they have to study and work for the AMM partner companies within their dual course of studies. But I am convinced that our team will represent our faculty with dignity in Ingolstadt because of their intense motivation and their interdisciplinary competence!", states FH-Prof. Dr. Kurt Gaubinger, looking forward to the success of his team.
