Projekte sind ein essenzieller Bestandteil des Curriculums von Mobile Computing. Die Studierenden bekommen die Möglichkeit, das im Zuge ihres Studiums erworbene theoretische Wissen selbst praktisch umzusetzen. Ein sowohl für StudentInnen als auch für Lehrende immer wieder spannendes Unterrichtskonzept, in dem schon erfolgreiche Startups wie z.B. runtastic und Butleroy ihre Anfänge gefunden haben.

3D object selection in an AR Environment

This system allows users that wear an OST-HMD (Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Display) device to move around freely in the laser ranger tracked area. In this specified area, they can view the different 3D virtual objects from different perspectives and angles. Additionally, they are able to select one 3D object through a touch on the controller of the OST-HMD device.

Workshop Expedia

A system should be designed to help people with planning and performing workshops and meetings. Moreover it should record all generated data, which can be analysed after. Several tools should be supported like digital whiteboards, digital paper, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

WiFi Indoor Tracker

This project is about the initial steps to design and setup an indoor tracking system. Different methods were tried to determine a position inside of a building. Therefore two helping tools were developed which were used in that process. One is a recorder to track WiFi data and the other one is a simulation tool to test the recordings.

Car as a sensor

The goal of the project is to build a system, that uses a sensor of any kind to gather location- and time-specific data (with the additional use of GPS-data) and to visualize them on a web-frontend.

Emotion Recognition on Mobile Devices based on User Interactions

The goal is to find unobtrusive ways to detect users emotion on a smartphone. Therefore it is not a good way to ask the user to select his current emotion on the screen. Use the system integrated sensors and possibly additional sensors to recognise the emotion of the user.
