Projekte sind ein essenzieller Bestandteil des Curriculums von Mobile Computing. Die Studierenden bekommen die Möglichkeit, das im Zuge ihres Studiums erworbene theoretische Wissen selbst praktisch umzusetzen. Ein sowohl für StudentInnen als auch für Lehrende immer wieder spannendes Unterrichtskonzept, in dem schon erfolgreiche Startups wie z.B. runtastic und Butleroy ihre Anfänge gefunden haben.

Bluetooth Low Energy Sniffing on Android

This project relates to a security threat in Bluetooth Low Energy(LE) specification 4.0. A missing handshake protocol at pairing of 2 devices makes it possible to sniff and decrypt the entire communication. The attacking device therefore uses an open source bluetooth sniffing stick called Ubertooth.

Bike based positioning technologies

The aim of Bike based positioning technologies project is to develop a cm-accurate positioning method of bikes. Based on this method, applications can be developed to compare the driving style of different mountain-bikers by using sensors for measuring the drivers brake attitude, angle of the bike in turns, drift of the wheels and the track line.

AR Education

The aim of the project AR education is to detect a known image within the cameras live view. With the evaluated transformation matrix (homography) is possible to show the border of the detected image as overlay onto the live view. The computer vision approach is realised using the Android SDK of the OpenCV library.

Optimizing a Fingerprint Based Indoor Positioning

The project shall be used to simulate WLAN inside a building. Based on the calculations from multiple senders to one receiver it shall be found if it is useable for indoor positioning. This shall be found out based on the strength / time with which the different signals arrive at the receiver.

User interface static analysis

The overall goal of this master thesis is to develop a tool which will support designers and developers of mobile applications in the design phase of mobile development. This tool should help them to build Android applications. Because all Android developers are familiar with Lint tool for Android studio, this plugin is extended with new custom rules following UI guidelines.

Simulation of modulation methods

In this project a software for simulation of modulation techniques was developed in Matlab. The simulation domain contains the transmitter part, a transmitting channel and the receiver part. The software was designed for users who want to learn interactively the specific fields for modulation and demodulation in wireless communications.
