Projekte sind ein essenzieller Bestandteil des Curriculums von Mobile Computing. Die Studierenden bekommen die Möglichkeit, das im Zuge ihres Studiums erworbene theoretische Wissen selbst praktisch umzusetzen. Ein sowohl für StudentInnen als auch für Lehrende immer wieder spannendes Unterrichtskonzept, in dem schon erfolgreiche Startups wie z.B. runtastic und Butleroy ihre Anfänge gefunden haben.

Recognizing Emotions from Physiological Data on a Mobile Device

In my master thesis I want to recognize emotions from physiological data on a mobile device almost in real time. For this I have to collect physiological data in a user study together with feedback from the user regarding his current emotion. This is the main part of this project.

Autonomous Parallel Parking Simulator

During this project, a simulator for autonomous parallel parking is implemented. The simulator enables the evaluation of different algorithms in different setups (e.g. car position, orientation) before applying it on a real car, which saves time and money. Ultrasonic sensors, which are already used for parking assist systems, are simulated as well to make the simulation as real as possible.

Glassdoor

The goal of this project is to provide an autonomous security framework for Android APKs, which is able to work with any application without requiring access to the the source code itself. It should make it easy for developers to find data leakages or exploitable bugs, that might be present in their application. To do so, it will analyse the decompiled source code as well as the runtime behaviour of the given application.

Robust Sectororiented Indoor Tracking based on WiFi

This project is about the initial steps to design and setup an indoor tracking system. Different methods were tried to determine a position inside of a building. Therefore, two helping tools were developed, which were used in that process. One is a recorder to track WiFi data, and the other one is a simulation tool to test the recordings.

Tangibles Tracking and Interaction Concept for the InterPlayces project

This project allows users that wear the Microsoft HoloLens (an AR Holographic Glass) to view additional information to the tangible objects. In addition to that, the virtual rocket can be built dynamically by placing the tangible parts on a grid above the webcam. The tangible parts placed on the grid are then scanned by this webcam, and a virtual representation of the built rocket is shown besides the camera stream in the Unity project.

3D object selection in an AR Environment

This system allows users that wear an OST-HMD (Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Display) device to move around freely in the laser ranger tracked area. In this specified area, they can view the different 3D virtual objects from different perspectives and angles. Additionally, they are able to select one 3D object through a touch on the controller of the OST-HMD device.

Workshop Expedia

A system should be designed to help people with planning and performing workshops and meetings. Moreover it should record all generated data, which can be analysed after. Several tools should be supported like digital whiteboards, digital paper, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Car as a sensor

The goal of the project is to build a system, that uses a sensor of any kind to gather location- and time-specific data (with the additional use of GPS-data) and to visualize them on a web-frontend.
