Bachelor’s degree /Master’s degree
The international three-tiered academic system consisting of the bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and the doctorate has defined the cross-border recognition of academic degrees since “Bologna Declaration” as signed by the European Education ministers in 1999.
International comparable
"Bachelor’s" -and "Master’s"-degrees are offered in all EU countries as well as in numerous other countries throughout the world. Based on a 3+2 year model you are able to acquire two academic qualifications specialising, if you wish, in two vocational areas. Additionally it is also possible to complete a doctorate at a university.
Courses and examinations in all degrees are allocated ECTS points (European Credit Transfer System) which are recognized throughout Europe. This serves as a mobility incentive for students, graduates, teaching staff and scientists working at universities and universities of applied sciences.

Graduates of a master’s degree from a university of applied sciences are entitled to study for a doctorate at a university either at home or abroad.

Scientific degrees
„Mechatronics and Economics” is a specific science degree offered by the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences. This degree requires 6 semesters and is offered on a part time, extra-occupational basis and caters specifically for graduates of a higher technical college who already have 3 years of vocational experience.
