Tuition Fees
NO tuition fees are currently charged by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria.
Health Insurance
Students on university of applied sciences degree programmes who are not covered by their parents‘ insurance can take out voluntary health insurance with a "Gebietskrankenkasse" (regional health insurance provider).
Accident Insurance
Social accident insurance for around 1.3 million pupils and students is provided by the Austrian Social Insurance for Occupational Risks (AUVA). Further details of this insurance cover can be found here.

Other Costs
In addition to personal living expenses, accommodation, transport etc. a range of additional costs is to be expected during a course of study for text and reference books, periodicals, stationery, discs, CD-ROMs, lecture notes, copying and printing costs and participation in excursions (travel costs, accommodation, entry fees…) among other things.
Grants / Student Benefit
Students at universities of applied sciences are considered equal to students at traditional universities for state grants (particularly for federal student benefit). Performance Related Grants
University of applied sciences degree programmes regularly award performance related grants for excellent student achievement from ministerial funds. The call for applications is made in the summer semester.
Grants for Work placements
CATT supports EU students who complete internships in EU member states within the framework of the Leonardo-Programme. www.catt.at/index_ENG_HTML.php
Other Grants and Benefits
Large companies (Energie AG, voestalpine etc.) and interest groups (Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber etc.) award individual grants for diploma theses and dissertations among other things that are of particular relevance for their areas of interest. Inquiries must be made on an individual basis.
