Goals

In the last 4 years the Federal State of Upper Austria has invested over 93 million Euro in the modern infrastructure of the University of Applied Sciences at the four schools in Hagenberg, Linz, Steyr and Wels. With the restructuring that took place in 2005 the cornerstone for the organisation and expansion of research activities was also laid in the form of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Research & Development, Ltd. in addition to an R&D centre at each campus, thereby guaranteeing the optimal transfer of technology and know-how to industry. Research means progress, and progress is the engine of the economic advancement. Only those who research today, will have work tomorrow!
What goals do we pursue for our partner enterprises?
Above all the innovative solutions we deliver should serve to strengthen the competitive ability of our partners in industry in order to safeguard the Central European economy. Moreover, synergies between R&D, teaching and industry are made optimal use of to further develop the teaching in the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria courses of study. This way our students/graduates are always up-to-date with state of the art technologies and thus highly qualified for jobs in high-tech industries and/or institutions in the health and social services.
Research & development should be one of the highest mandates for any business and it is the keyword for innovation and the driving force behind innovation. So that this large responsibility is not borne alone by industry and Austria’s social institutions, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria supports numerous businesses and enterprises with their outstanding R&D spectrum as a competent partner. The University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Research & Development, Ltd. was specially created by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria to carry out research projects and represents for businesses a flexible and highly qualified partner in all questions of research. The benefit to our partners is obvious: practical R&D results can be achieved directly, which in turn substantially strengthens the ability of the business to compete.

From ideas to innovation

Our R&D ventures are carried out in the form of projects. Every project manager at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria is familiar with the methods of project management. Furthermore the centralised R&D controlling office will ensure that projects will not only be a success contentwise, but also that they remain within their financial targets.
