Summer School 2010
From July 4-16, Linz Campus hosted 15 students and three professors from our partner, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare. Dean Stan Stojkovic, who was asked by California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to “clean up the mess” and reorganize the prison system, accompanied the group. Lectures, site visits, and excursions introduced our guests from USA to Austrian Social Policy, Immigration and Integration, Youth Welfare, Violence Intervention, Garsten Prison, Police Work and work with offenders of all ages, and Substance Abuse and Treatment.
Our guests also enjoyed a cruise on the Danube, a guided tour of Linz, a bus trip through Salzkammergut with stops in Mondsee and Gmunden (including a quick swim in Traunsee for the more adventurous!) as well as our delicious Austrian food.
