Studying in Austria
Information for our international applicants
At a post secondary level, there are basically two possibilities to study in Austria, either at a traditional University or at a University of Applied Sciences. Both systems offer academic education at a high level. Universities are more science-oriented, whereas Universities of Applied Sciences are more career-oriented.
The tuition fees for EU-students are € 363.36 (€ 726.72 for non-EU residents) for each term. In Upper Austria, where our University of Applied Sciences is located, even these low tuition fees are fully subsidized by the government, which means that studying at our University is free from tuition fees!
Most courses at our University of Applied Sciences have already been converted to the new Bachelor/Master-System. For Applied Master Courses like International Marketing Management (IMM), a prerequisite is a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher academic degree) with an economics background (26 ECTS). To assess prerequisites we use the European ECTS system. 1 ECTS represents a workload of 1 hour per week. Hence, a lecture of one hour would equal 1 ECTS, whereas a seminar or tutorial with an intensive workload (preparation, homework, project work) could be worth up to 3 ECTS.
