Application Process

First of all we want to encourage ambitious and single-minded international students to apply for this master’s programme. The course is at a high level, and if you are interested in a professional education and highly motivated to take this unique opportunity we would be very interested to get into contact with you. As the course is without fees you might ask why we are so interested in international applications. Well, the answer is quite simple: We want to offer our native students a course with a truly international, let us say multi-cultural atmosphere with international colleagues and international lecturers.
Thus, one third of the seats in the IMM course are devoted to international students. The ultimate choice rests on the submitted application documents and a one hour interview.
What is the application process for international applicants?
1. Complete the application form
2. Add the required documents. We are particularly interested in all information regarding your academic education (subjects and hours) – see above. In case you do not meet the 12-ECTS-requirement in English but are experienced in English we also accept the results of a TOEFL-test (www.ets.org/toefl ) or IELTS-test (www.ielts.org ) not older than 6 months. If you have English as mothertongue, there are no further requirements necessary.
3. Send all the required documents by the 30th of June 2010 to the Upper Austrian University of Applied Sciences, International Marketing Management, Ms. Angelika Fruehauf, Wehrgrabengasse 1-3, A-4400 Steyr, Austria.
(For applicants not from the EU: send your application as soon as possible, the visa process can take up to 3 months!)
4. We will check your documents and give you feedback. If you meet all the formal requirements we will arrange a personal interview (including the task of working out a small marketing case study) with the director of studies. For distant applicants we can arrange an interview via “skype”.
5. We will inform you whether or not your application has been successful within 2 weeks after all applicants have been interviewed.
6. Depending on the mutual agreements between your country and Austria – we will inform you which steps you have to take (if any) to receive your residence permit.
